Your partner to engineer food and feed bioprocessing plants.
Whatever your needs in the fields of fermentation and cellular agriculture, ERIDIA is at your side from first feasibility assessment and conceptualization all the way to the detailed design and execution of your project.
Technologies such as precision and biomass fermentation as well as cellular agriculture offer the potential to drastically reduce the land and CO2 footprints of food and feed production. This is a potential avenue to produce food and feed for a growing world population whilst respecting the limits of the planet. With ERIDIA, we want to accelerate the development of this market and offer solutions to meet the rising global demand for food and feed while reducing the impact on the environment, in particular arable land.
Scale up from Lab to Industrial Production
ERIDIA focuses on biotech solutions primarily for food and feed industries, as well as energy and commodity chemicals. The capabilities extend from engineering (feasibility study, concept design, basic design, detail design) to delivery of process equipment.
ERIDIA, a joint-venture of Bühler Group and ZETA
ERIDIA is headquartered in Leobendorf, Austria and built on strong foundations as a joint-venture of the Bühler Group and ZETA.
Scope of Services
We support from the early stage of development up to industrial scale.
We focus on bioprocessing solutions primarily for the Food & Feed Industry as well as Energy & Commodity Chemicals.
Bühler holds a leading position in the global food and feed industry, contributing to feeding over 2 billion people every day. Bühler brings expertise in processing technologies, a deep knowledge of the cost competitive food and feed markets, and global access to those markets. Bühler is exploring new applications and technology developments in these fields, in line with its target to have solutions ready to reduce by 50% the waste, energy and water in its customers’ value chains by 2025.
ZETA brings experience in biopharma process engineering, having been the selected supplier for major biotech projects globally. With 1,000 highly qualified employees and 22 subsidiaries worldwide, it specializes in planning, automation, digitalization and qualification of customized biopharmaceutical facilities for aseptic process solutions. ZETA supports the scale-up of fermentation processes from laboratory to industrial production and will apply this expertise to the field of cell culture fermentation for the food industry.
"Economical use of resources and cost efficient production are constant drivers of the food and feed industry. Biotechnology offers the potential to meet the challenges of the food and feed industry in a more sustainable and efficient way. Our mission is to accelerate the development of this evolving industry and engineer our customers success in this space."
"Our ambition is to enable our customers on their journey to develop and scale the production platforms for the food and feed of tomorrow, leveraging fermentation and cellular agriculture. Through this, I am convinced that we can meaningfully contribute to reducing the pressure on biodiversity and arable land."
